In a response to the reaction made by government officials to replace existing National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN) with the new Commission for Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous activists have staged protest stating that such action of government never be justifiable. This episode of indigenous voice gives special coverage of indigenous peoples concerns in regards to reactions made by officials at different ministry.

After the new constitution incorporated the provision of a new Commission for Indigenous Peoples, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development have been telling officials of NFDIN that the Foundation will be replaced by a new commission.

Talking to Indigenous Television, Indigenous activists said that scrapping NFDIN would never be justifiable because the commission is a semi-judicial body that makes policies, which NFDIN implements by devising programs and also provides service to the indigenous people.

NFDIN is a government body, which has been supporting Indigenous Peoples' organizations for the development of their respective communities. According to the provision of Constitution, Commission for Indigenous Peoples will be a watchdog for the rights of indigenous people of the country.
