841 Views | January 12, 2018People from different Kirat community-namely Sunuwar, Rai, Limbu and Yakkha in traditional attires observed Udhauli in Kathmandu. Udhauli festival is observed during Mangsir (full moon day in the Nepali month of Mangsir October/November). The term Udhauli means going down mainly refers the migration of birds and fish from higher level to lower hills. This festival is usually marked the beginning of the harvesting season, during which Kirat Community worships the god of nature requesting for the bountiful crops.
